Copyright Infringement Policy
How to report and respond to copyright claims on Stuex · Effective Date: 16 May 2026
Stuex respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects its users to do the same. This Policy explains how copyright owners can notify us of alleged infringement, how users can respond to such notices, and what actions we take in response.
1. Our Commitment
We take copyright seriously. Where we receive a valid notice that content on the Platform infringes another person's copyright, we will act expeditiously to remove or disable access to that content. Repeat infringers will have their accounts terminated.
2. Submitting a Notice of Alleged Infringement
If you believe that content on Stuex infringes your copyright, send a written notice to support@stuex.ng with the subject line "Copyright Notice." Your notice must include:
- Your full name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- A clear identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (e.g., title, author, publisher, edition, or a URL to the original).
- A clear identification of the allegedly infringing material on Stuex, including the URL, listing ID, or other information that allows us to locate it.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, made under penalty of perjury or its equivalent under Nigerian law, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
Incomplete notices may be returned for clarification. Notices submitted in bad faith may give rise to liability under applicable law.
3. Our Response
- Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will review the claim and may remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing content.
- We will notify the user whose content has been removed and provide them with a copy of the notice (with sensitive contact details redacted where appropriate).
- If we determine that the notice is invalid or insufficient, we will inform the sender and may request additional information.
4. Counter-Notice
If you believe that your content was removed in error or as a result of misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice to support@stuex.ng with the subject line "Copyright Counter-Notice." Your counter-notice must include:
- Your full name, address, telephone number, and email address.
- Identification of the content that was removed and the location where it appeared.
- A statement, made in good faith, that the content was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the courts of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the content. The matter may then proceed between the parties through negotiation or, if necessary, the courts.
5. Repeat Infringers
Stuex maintains a record of users against whom valid copyright notices have been received. Users with repeated valid notices will have their accounts suspended or permanently closed at our discretion.
6. Course Materials, Past Questions, and Textbooks
- Past questions that are lawfully released, freely distributed, or otherwise in the public domain may be uploaded for study purposes.
- Uploading scans of copyrighted textbooks, lecture handouts marked confidential, or other proprietary academic materials without permission is not allowed.
- If you are an academic institution, examination body, or publisher and you find your material on Stuex without authorisation, send a notice using Section 2 above. We will act promptly.
7. False Claims
Submitting a knowingly false copyright notice is a serious matter and may lead to legal consequences. Submit notices only where you have a good-faith belief that infringement has occurred.
8. Contact
All copyright matters should be directed to support@stuex.ng.
