How to Delete Your Account
A step-by-step guide to closing your Stuex account · Effective Date: 16 May 2026
If you've decided to delete your Stuex account, we understand — sometimes things don't work out, and we're sorry to see you go. This guide walks you through how to close your account safely and what to expect afterwards.
Before You Delete
A few things to check first, so deleting your account doesn't cause you avoidable problems:
- Pending transactions: If you have any active escrow transactions, complete or cancel them before deleting. You cannot delete your account while a transaction is in progress.
- Pending payouts: Make sure any seller earnings have been paid out to your bank account first.
- Active disputes: Disputes must be resolved before account closure.
- Your data: If you'd like a copy of your data (past questions, transaction history, messages), you can request a data export from your settings before deleting.
Step-by-Step Process
Step 1 — Log in to your account
Start by signing in to your Stuex account at stuex.ng with your credentials.
Step 2 — Open your profile settings
Once logged in, navigate to your profile, then scroll down to find the Delete Account button. It's displayed in red to highlight its importance.
Step 3 — Click 'Delete Account'
Clicking this will open a confirmation screen so you don't proceed by accident.
Step 4 — Confirm your decision
To confirm, you'll be asked to type DELETE in the box provided. This ensures you fully understand what you're doing.
Step 5 — Tell us why (optional)
We'd love to hear from you. You'll be asked to briefly choose a reason for leaving. This step is optional, but your feedback helps us improve Stuex.
Step 6 — Enter your password
For added security, you'll be prompted to enter your password. This ensures no one can delete your account without your consent.
Step 7 — Final confirmation
After entering your password, a final confirmation screen will remind you that your account and most of its data will be permanently removed and cannot be recovered.
Step 8 — Account deletion complete
Click Delete Account one last time to confirm. Your account will be permanently closed and your associated data removed from the Platform.
Important Notes
- Permanent deletion: Once your account is deleted, it cannot be reversed. We do not maintain account recovery for deleted accounts.
- What is removed: Your profile, listings, messages, learning history, and personal data are removed from the Platform.
- What we are required to keep: By Nigerian law, transaction records (orders, payouts, dispute decisions) must be retained for a minimum of seven (7) years for tax and financial compliance, even after account closure. These records contain only what is necessary to meet that obligation. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
- Your feedback matters: If you have a moment to tell us why you're leaving, it genuinely helps us make Stuex better for the students who remain.
We're sorry to see you go. If you ever decide to return, you're welcome to create a new account at any time.
